About

Fast facts: I am a New York City mega-enthusiast, passionate photog and consummate optimist. I love to roam NYC with my camera, open to serendipity. This is the focus of “Inga’s Angle.” These photos are taken on my journeys throughout this wonderful city. (Photo copyright: Inga Sarda-Sorensen 2010-2011, all rights reserved.)

  1. Hello Inga, browsing through your site I found a lovely image of NYC/central park. As a photographer and artist, I would like to use this image as part of a non-commercial project. Would it be possible to obtain a hi-res file of this amazing image you have taken? Here is a link to the picture I’m referring to:

If you’re open to the idea I’ll be more than happy to share the concept with you.

    Many thanks,
    Sameer

    • Hi Sameer,

Thanks for the note and interest in the pic. Can you tell me a little bit more about your idea?

      Thanks again.

  2. Dear Inga, greetings from England. Just a quick note to say how much I love your photographs! My daughter has visited New York twice and it has been a life long ambition of mine to visit the big apple. My favourite building is the Chrysler Building (I have two glass panels in my kitchen door of this wonderful monument). Sometimes you just have to take the time to let someone know that they are making a difference in your life.
    Kind regards

  7. Just found your site and really enjoy your photos. I got to visit NYC for the first time several years ago and stayed at a hotel on E. 53rd Street. While there I kept noticing the gorgeous gothic tower at 575 Lexington Avenue (which is also the building’s name). Any chance you might be able to get a shot of this building sometime?

    • Thank you, Karl! Glad you enjoy the pics!

  8. Oooops!! Make that 570 Lexington Avenue! Sorry.

  9. Hello, Inga! I’m in love with NYC, too! I lived there in the 80s and have missed it ever since. I just followed you on twitter and I both retweeted and linked (on my blog) to the beautiful photo of Central Park at twilight posted yesterday. This photo is haunting me. I love it so much. Would you consider selling it? I feel the need to frame it, hang it in my home in Atlanta and gaze upon it when I’m homesick for my city. Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful work with all of us! Warmest regards, Lynne Ragan

    • Hi Lynne, What wonderful and kind words. Thank you for sharing. I’m delighted you are touched by that photo. 🙂

    • Awwwwwwww….

      XOXOXOXOXOOXOX

  20. Inga

My first trip to NYC was this Thanksgiving my daughter was in the Macy’s Parade. I was so excited and had a great time watching her perform. However I’m a photographer and I didn’t get to take as many pictures (landscapes) of the city. In fact I only seen Central Park from the bus 😦 Therefore I have to go back soon!!! But no one wants to walk around with me and watch me take pics for hours. Do you know of any photo walks in the city? BTW your work is beautiful. I was very upset when i seen your pics of the park and the trees still had fall leaves.I arrived in the city on Nov 19. I’m from the south and we never have leaves in those shades of autumn. The go from green to dead leaves, no in-between.

    • Hi Renee,

That is so thrilling about your daughter. She must have had a wonderful time (and the weather was fabulous that day)! I am not sure about photo-specific walks, but if you are looking for good walks around town with interesting photo-ops, you may want to check out this site: http://www.walkingoffthebigapple.com/

The beauty of NYC is that nearly everything makes for a great photo-op. 🙂

      Have a wonderful holiday season!

      Inga

  21. Wow! I just stumbled upon your picture on twitpic so i checked it out then saw you had many more. Im in love! Your pictures are incredible? How are they not in any magazine? Im a photographer too, but nowhere near as good as you. I was curious as to what kind of camera you use?

    • Hi Brett, Thanks for the nice comments! I shoot with a Canon 5D Mark II and Canon 7D. Glad you enjoy the pics!

  22. Do you have an email adress? I want to talk to you about using some of your pictures to post them on a gallery of a twitter account that has over 130k followers.

    • What are details and what is the site? Thx.

      • My email is adleon.ciencia@gmail.com the twitter site is https://twitter.com/#!/El_Universo_Hoy Besides posting news about science, we also post pics from around the world. Something like 98% of our followers are from Spain or Latin America. We have a facebook page as well with more than 11k “likes” that we just started.

      • Hi Antonio, Thanks so much for the interest. Very sweet. I will check this out and get back to you. 🙂

  23. Nice colours & symmetricity !

    • Thank you! Glad you like!

  24. Inga,
Do you ever sell your photographs or prints? They are lovely and bring back so many memories of New York for me. I would love to hang one in my home!
    –Erin

    • Thank you, Erin, for such kind remarks. I will keep you posted when I make them available. Glad you enjoy them! 🙂

  25. Hello Inga, I love your work. It brings back many great memories of when I visited NY.

On behalf if my son may I ask if you would object to some of your pictures being used for his art homework by means of a PowerPoint presentation?

Many thanks for your consideration in advance.

    Kirsty

    • Hi Kirsty,

Glad you enjoy the pics. If it is for a school project, and if photo credit is given, then that should be fine. Out of curiosity, what grade is he in and does he have particular shots in mind?

      Thanks for reaching out.

      Inga

  26. Hi Inga

Thanks for getting back to me. My son is in UK Year 8 (second yr of Secondary school). Ge has to name the artist he is profiling in the homework and has to choose pictures taken from a mixture of angles etc. Would you like to see what he creates as I can send this to you via email.

    Kind regards

    Kirsty

    • Hi Kirsty, What a wonderful project! If he’d like to share it, then of course I would love to see it. Best to you both!

  27. Love the pics. I’m a struggling author. The latest book I’ve written involves the life of a thirteen year old boy struggling on the streets of New York trying to find his dad that went missing two years ago. Its amazing how your perspective and photographs seem to mimic the ideas in my head… in other words, they really bring the New York in my book to life in stunning color and detail.

Favor to ask, can I re-post some of the photographs on my blog site, stating that they are from my fictional character, but linked back and given credit to you? Also, would you be willing to allow some of your pictures to be slightly modified, words added to, perhaps a book cover, as long as credit was given to you?

Thanks again for your attention to detail, beauty and overall eye for your art.

    • Hi there, and thank you for the nice comments/interest in my photos.

Sounds like a fascinating project you are working on. Please, however, do not publish/modify my photos.

Best to you and the book!

  28. very stunning ….been here 30 years and i never get tired of seeing NYC

    • Thx for the comment, Gregory!

  29. Hi Inga. I just discovered your amazing pictures. I’ve visited NYC several times and none of my pictures look like that! I’ve recently started getting into photography after taking a few pictures in Alaska that even I thought were pretty great. What kind of camera do you use? And how do you get such clear pictures at night? I just can’t seem to get the night shots to turn out great. Just using a regular digital camera, maybe I need to upgrade??

    • Hi Tiffany, I shoot with Canon DSLRs. A tripod is essential for night shooting. If you have not tried that, then do! Happy shooting to you!

  30. Just found your amazing photos on Twitter, I am now following you. Having lived in NYC for some years and becoming a NYC addict, these photos bring me back so many good memories and long to return there every time I can. Thanks so mucho for sharing your art with us.

Look for me on Twitter @luigivis.

    Thanks and God speed.

    • Delighted you enjoy them! 🙂

  56. Hi Inga…I’m Chard. What led me to this little box? Well, in short, you! The story: I was perusing photos of the storm…then one stood out, and on another site 4 sites later…another stood out – both by an Inga I have never heard about – and after 21 years in the White House Press Corps and the White House Press Photographers Association…I have some insights into what is a good pic…and what’s a Great Pic! But that would have never led me to this box…what did that was the byline on your twitter account: You are one amazingly wonderful human being! I would like to get to know you more…we share concisely the values which are both rare…and admirable. on facebook I’m:

  64. Hi Inga,

I was wondering is possible, the non profit group I belong to (msanj.org) can use your great photo of the Empire State Building when it had a purple tone to it. We are looking into an an initiative to see if they can turn building lighting to that same purple color for awareness and research towards Multiple System Atrophy. Information it can be found at http://www.msanj.org/empire-state-building-initiative/ and I can give you a photo credit as well.

    Thanks
    -Robert

    • Thx for the note and interest, Robert. I will e-mail you directly. Thx again!

  65. Hello Inga,

My husband shared your pictures with me that you’ve posted on twitter and I would love to put together a series of them in our home. • Thank you for the nice comments and interest, Melanie! I will e-mail you directly. Thx again!

  66. Hi, Inga! I have befriended a woman in Baton Rouge, LA who she is very excited about making her first visit to NYC (as a “grownup”) later this year. She has asked me to send her some of my fave pics of the city. Since you are hands-down my favorite photographer of the city, I thought I would inquire if you’ve published any collections of your fabulous cityscapes, or have any other items for sale that might “tide her over” until she gets here! I welcome your suggestions. Thank you! Your longtime fan, Steven Donaghey

    • Hi Steven,

Thank you so much for the kind words. They are so much appreciated! Regarding your inquiry, I will e-mail you offline later in the week. Thank you again! 🙂

  72. Dear Inga,

Your stunning photograph of NYC taken of the impending storm over the city on July 18th, 2012 has a wonderful and personal meaning to me. It would mean the world to me to be able to purchase a print of this photo! Could you kindly contact me in reference to this?

    Kind regards,

  75. Hi Inga! Your photos are exquisite. I am searching for a wide angle NYC Skyline with water reflections, with an orange and blue empire state building. Do you have that in your collection? I want to frame it for my family room.
Do you sell the digital version or prints?

    • Hi Barry, Thank you so much for your nice comment and interest. I’ll follow up directly via email. Thank you again! Inga

  76. Dear Inga,

My name is Alex. Your photography is stunning. I can tell that you have refined your long exposure technique.

I work for a blog https://www.review-weekly.com/blog/ that is working on a post about the best Irish pubs in New York City. We love your photos and were wondering if we might be able to feature one of your photos as a header in our post.

It is a non commercial post. We would give you full credit of course, and link back to your blog.

Thank you, and keep taking those wonderful photos!
    -Alex

(PS: I tried to send a similar message a moment ago, but I’m not sure it went through. I apologize if you received two similar messages)

  77. Inga, I wanted to let you know you are an absolute legend in my eyes. Your photos are amazing and help remind me how beautiful our great city truly is. Thank you.

  78. Hello Inga,
I absolutely love your photos of New York. They are truly beautiful! My daughter was born on Christmas Day and NYC is her favorite place in the world. Your photo of the Christmas tree in front of Rockefellar Center, taken from an interesting angle, is so magnificent and I know my daughter will find it breathtaking. I would love to purchase a print that I could frame for her bedroom, as a birthday present for her on December 25th. May I ask if this would be possible?
Thank you so much for your consideration and once again, your work is magnificent!

    Romy Greenberg

    • Hi Romy,

Thank you so much for the kind comment! I will follow up with you via email.

      Best,

      Inga

  80. Hello Inga! I am a born and raised NY-er who will be getting married at the Central Park Boathouse in December 2018. I was perusing pictures of Central Park in the snow online and found your work, which I am absolutely in love with. My fiancee and I were thinking of using a snowy Central Park picture for our save the date and I would absolutely love if we could use one of your pictures. I just wanted to reach out and see if this is something you would be open to? I adore every single one of your photos, so I’m not even sure which one I would want to use just yet; however, I wanted to start the conversation ASAP. Please keep snapping! Your work is incredible. Warmest regards –Michelle

    • Congratulations, Michelle! That’s wonderful! Sure. Is there a particular photo you are interested in?

      Happy New Year!

      Warmly,

      INga
