It’s a Friday mishmash, featuring a few pics from the past week or so.
There’s a new Frank Gehry building going up in Lower Manhattan, near the Brooklyn Bridge. At 76 stories, it will be the tallest residential building in New York City:

Mermaid Parade 2010

The annual Mermaid Parade was held this weekend out on Coney Island. A combination of Pride, burlesque and, well, Coney, it’s always an amazing event. Not surprisingly, the Gulf oil disaster was repeatedly referenced throughout the parade, which is a celebration of the sea, after all.
2009 Brooklyn Bridge Pup Crawl

So many irresistible faces at the inaugural Brooklyn Bridge Pup Crawl this past weekend! The event raised funds to help shelters grappling with an influx of pets that have become homeless due to this rocky economic climate.
Canines and their human companions meandered to and fro over the iconic span. Pups got to sport glow-in-the-dark leashes to boot! The shindig reportedly raised $3,000. Here are a few pics I snapped among this bevy of cuties:
